Starfleet International has been around for many decades and is the oldest Star Trek fan club of its kind in the world! With each passing year it gets even better!
Why join Starfleet? In addition to conventions, membership in a Starfleet Chapter affords an opportunity to have FUN meeting and interacting with other Star Trek and Science Fiction fans, making new friends and meeting interesting people from all walks of life. It's gives us a chance to promote ideas and express our passion for Star Trek with others who share the same level of enthusiasm.
Starfleet membership offers ways to achieve goals and meet challenges through mutual cooperation and teamwork while helping individuals to develop valuable skills in responsibility and leadership. It also offers ways to "give back" to our communities by promoting things such as charities, community service projects, and environmental awareness.
Membership is open to everyone of all ages. Upon joining, members receive a membership packet containing a membership card, membership certificate, member handbook and a Vessel Registry listing all the ships (ie. chapters) in Starfleet and six issues a year of the Communiqué , the official newsletter.
Other perks include academic scholarships and discounts on select goods and services at OfficeMax, Red Roof Inn, Motel 6 and Choice Hotels. Free Starfleet academy courses are also available to active members either for fun or to fulfill requirements for command staff positions within their chapter.
