Happy 2014 to all! This year promises to be an exciting one for the USS Columbus as we are celebrating our 25th Anniversary! We're proud that our ship has endured for a quarter of a century. There have been many changes along the way - members have come and gone - a few have departed to the final frontier, but they will always have a special place in our thoughts and memories.
Just as the USS Enterprise was often sent to help people of other worlds, the USS Columbus has helped those in need in our little corner of the Galaxy, collecting and donating food, toys, clothing, blankets and school supplies, sending care packages and coupons to our troops overseas, and anything else we could do to help.
Our members have attended Star Trek conventions, movie premiers, and have met many of the celebrities of the Star Trek Universe. We've gone on away missions to planetariums, space museums, space festivals, international festivals, met astronauts, and we've had more holiday parties and potluck dinners than we can count and have had great fun doing it all! A true spirit of friendship, family and fellowship has endured among our members and we've enjoyed being together all of these years. Sincere thanks and appreciation to all who have been a part of our 25 year voyage.
So what can we expect in the next 25 years? That remains to be seen...but whatever comes our way, we'll rise to the occasion and put forth our best efforts to Make it So. After all it's not the destination that's important...the thrill is in the journey.
Here's to the Journey.....
Live Long and Prosper.
